The Totnes Trail
This is a walk that starts in the centre of Totnes and weaves its way through the town, along the River Dart, taking in some of the most attractive spots.
The walk begins at the town's famous market square, where you can visit the bustling Saturday market with its many stalls selling local produce and crafts. The walk then heads uphill to see Totnes Castle before descending to follow the River Dart. You will pass by St Mary's church, which was once Totnes' parish church and is now used as an arts centre.
The next landmark on your route is a 17th-century pub called The Ship Inn. It has a beautiful garden with views of Totnes Castle across the river Dart below. From here, you will head back down to pass through a pretty residential area before reaching your starting point at Market Square again.
